Davey Zee started his musical career in 1971 at the ripe old age of 9 by performing at his church "talent shoe" for 200 plus parishioners in the Black Rock neighborhood where he grew up. In the 5th grade, he auditioned for the All City Band. He was accepted and performed at venues such as Kleinhans Music Hall, McKinley and Riverside High Schools. He played first chair trumpet for 4 years at Riverside High School in Buffalo. In 1982 he hooked up with Mr. Twister himself, Chubby Checker, and toured the USA and abroad until 1986. After four years on the road, Davey returned to Buffalo to form the band Cheap Sneakers and performed all around WNY. Davey moved to the Atlantic coast area in 1988 to perform with a band he formed with his friends Scott McGowan and Buck Fogg. It was a three piece, three part harmony acoustic band that toured the New England circuit, packing houses along the way. In 1990, Davey moved out west to Glendale, AZ and performed with various acts in the west until he decided to move back to Buffalo. After another one year stint with Chubby Checker, Davey formed Davey Zee and the Renegades (AKA Renegade) along with his good friend, Buffalo's legendary Sam Gambino. In 2013, after a 23 year run in WNY, the members of Renegade decided to move forward with different projects. Davey met up with his current band members on the internet and decided immediately that it was the right move, hence Mid~Life~Crisis was born. Davey is 51 years old, married and has 4 grown children and 5 lovely grandchildren. His mom lives with him and his wife, and he also has three sisters and one brother who support him in every facet.
